Conto
Conto is a very large campground 4km from Conto Beach in the Margaret River Region. It is close to Boranup Forest and on the Cape to Cape Track.
Booking
Bookings are essential and can be made:
- online and at this website only
- for one campsite only that you must camp on yourself
- up to and including the day of arrival (subject to campsite availability and your own internet service* to make a booking)
- up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival
*Check your mobile service provider’s coverage map but beware that the quality and reliability of service in regional and remote Australia can be variable and is impacted by the forests and hills of Australia’s South West.
Friends, family or other social groups travelling together who cannot be accommodated on the same campsite must make their own separate bookings.
Specific campsites cannot be reserved. Choose an area when booking and select from campsites in that area that are vacant on arrival.
If you are an outdoor education provider, licensed commercial tour operator or are organising an event (friends, family and other social groups camping together does not constitute an event), contact Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park Information Centre (Calgardup) to discuss your requirements.
Campsites
Conto has eight separate camping areas.
Campsites in the Chuditch (19 campsites) and Quenda (18) areas are reverse-in with a compacted crushed limestone surface and a fire ring.
Campsites in the Davies (12), Hamelin (22), Whalers (11) and Whistlers (14) areas are compacted earth and grass sites nestled amongst the peppermint trees, often with low overhead clearance. They are suitable for tents and swags only with parking alongside. They have a picnic
table and benches and a fire ring. Some may be shared use with nearby
campsites.
Isaacs area has 13 campsites that are similar to Davies, Hamelin, Whalers and Whistlers but they have no fire rings as campfires are not permitted at any time.
Wanil is a fenced grass area for tents and swags only without marked campsites, and parking outside the fence. There are shared use picnic tables, benches and fire rings.
All campsites are unpowered.
Check campsite details and the campground map carefully when booking.
