Steep Point
Steep point is a small campground at the most westerly point of mainland Australia.
Booking
Bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for one campsite only. The maximum stay in any park is 14 nights if any night is during Western Australia public school holidays, 28 nights at any other time.
If you are an outdoor education provider, licensed commercial tour operator or are organising an event (friends, family and other social groups camping together does not constitute an event), contact Steep Point Ranger Station (Edel Land National Park) to discuss your requirements.
Campsites
Eight rock-surface campsites.
All campsites are unpowered.

Facilities
No-flush pit toilets are the only facility.
Campground Rules
No campfires at any time.
No dogs or other domestic animals.
Generator use is permitted 8am-9pm only.
Do not empty waste from your portable toilet into campground toilets. Carry waste out of the park for disposal in an authorised dump point.
Carry all waste out of the park. No bins provided.
Fees
A per person camping fee and a per vehicle park entry fee apply.
Fees for camping and vehicle entry increased on 27 October 2023. The increased fees will apply for changes (except to vehicle registration numbers) to existing bookings, including for unchanged dates, campers and entry fees, as well as to new bookings.
If you change a booking made before the fees were increased, you can apply for refund of any increased fees paid for unchanged dates, campers and entry fees only. Apply by reply to the email confirming your booking change (subject line begins 'Your change to Park Stay WA booking'). Any delay in changing the booking may affect your right to refund.
Camping fee must be paid by Mastercard or VISA when booking.
Park entry fee may be paid when booking, on arrival at Edel Land (proposed) National Park or by purchasing a park pass and is required for motor vehicles only. Payment is not required for trailers.

Steep Point is a CLIFF RISK AREA.
- Keep well clear of cliff edges
- Be prepared for sudden wind gusts
- Watch out for large unpredictable waves
- Supervise children at all times
December to April can be extremely hot and the risk of bushfire can be very high.
Storms are common between May and October throughout WA.
Edel Land (proposed) National Park is in very remote Australia.
Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling

Location
185km from Great North West Coastal Highway via Shark Bay Road, unsealed Useless Loop Road and single lane soft sand track. (465km from Geraldton, 380km from Carnarvon, 230km from Denham.)
Access for high-clearance 4WD vehicles with low-range gears, and small high-clearance boat/camper trailers only. No facility to reinflate tyres on exit provided.
