Janes Bay
Janes Bay is a campground situated adjacent to the Cloates Sanctuary Zone of Ningaloo Marine Park with access for launching small boats and kayaks from the beach (4WD only). The shoreline is a special purpose zone where shore-based fishing is permitted.
Booking
Bookings are essential and can be made:
- online and at this website only
- for one campsite only that you must camp on yourself
- up to and including the day of arrival (subject to campsite availability and your own internet service* to make a booking)
- up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival
* Check your mobile service provider’s coverage map but beware that the quality and reliability of service in regional and remote Australia can be variable.
Friends, family or other social groups travelling together who cannot be accommodated on the same campsite must make their own separate bookings.
The maximum stay in any park is 14 nights if any night is during Western Australia public school holidays, 28 nights at any other time.
If you are an outdoor education provider, licensed commercial tour operator or are organising an event (friends, family and other social groups camping together does not constitute an event), contact Milyering Discovery Centre (Cape Range National Park) to discuss your requirements.
Campsites
Twenty-nine compacted gravel surface campsites of varying distances from the beach.
All campsites are unpowered.

Facilities
A chemical toilet dump point is the only facility.
Campground Rules
You must bring and use a sealed-unit flushing chemical toilet or a sealed-unit composting toilet. Portable toilets that collect waste in a bag are not permitted. Burying toilet waste is not permitted.
The dump point provided is the for disposal of chemical toilet waste only. Carry all sealed-unit composting toilet waste out of the park.
Campfires when conditions permit and in campers’ own portable, self-contained fire rings only.
Campfires are not permitted on days of HIGH fire danger or above. Check today's fire danger rating for the Gascoyne Coast fire weather district at Emergency WA.
Bring your own firewood. Check current restrictions on the movement of wood, including firewood. Collecting firewood and kindling is not permitted in national parks and other conservation reserves.
Dogs are permitted. They must be controlled on a leash at all times.
Generator use is permitted.
Carry all waste out of the park. No bins provided.
Private, unlicensed all-terrain vehicles/quad bikes (ATVs) and other off-road vehicles are not permitted in Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo).
Fees
A per person camping fee applies. There is no vehicle entry fee for Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo).
Camping fee must be paid by Mastercard or VISA when booking.

Your safety and health
Drinking water is not provided.
No personal hygiene facilities are provided.
December to April can be extremely hot and the risk of bushfire can be very high.
November to April is tropical cyclone season.
Storms are common between May and October throughout WA.
Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo) is in very remote Australia.
Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling.

Location
77km north of Coral Bay.
Ningaloo Road is closed until further notice. Access for
high-clearance 4WD vehicles with low-range gears only via Yardie Creek Road
from the north and Cardabia-Ningaloo Road from the south (from Coral Bay or
Bruboodjoo).
Access from the north and Cape Range National Park requires
crossing the tidal Yardie Creek on soft, shifting sand and cannot be
guaranteed. Crossing is at your own risk and should not be attempted by anyone
without the appropriate skills, experience and equipment. Check Bureau of
Meterology for tide predictions
Reduce tyre pressure for soft sand access track. No facility
provided to reinflate tyres on exit.
