Winderabandi
Winderabandi campground is situated adjacent to the Winderabandi Sanctuary Zone of Ningaloo Marine Park with access for launching small boats and kayaks from the beach (4WD only). The shoreline is a special purpose zone where shore-based fishing is permitted.
Booking
Bookings are essential and can be made up to 180 days (approximately six months) before arrival and for one campsite only. The maximum stay in any park is 14 nights if any night is during Western Australia public school holidays, 28 nights at any other time.

Forty-nine soft sand campsites that vary in size.
All campsites are unpowered.

Facilities
A chemical toilet dump point is the only facility.
Campground Rules
Campfires when conditions permit and in campers’ own portable, self-contained fire rings only.
Campfires are not permitted on days of HIGH fire danger or above. Check today's fire danger rating at Emergency WA.
Bring your own firewood. Collecting firewood and kindling is not permitted in national parks and other conservation reserves.
Dogs are permitted. They must be controlled on a leash at all times.
Generator use is permitted.
No toilets provided. Bring and use a portable self-contained toilet that is approved for use in Australia and can be emptied into a dump point. Use the dump point or carry waste out of the park for disposal in an authorised dump point.
Carry all waste out of the park. No bins provided.
Private, unlicensed all-terrain vehicles/quad bikes (ATVs) and other off-road vehicles are not permitted in Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo).
Fees
A per person camping fee applies. There is no vehicle entry fee for Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo).
Fees for camping increased on 27 October 2023. The increased fees will apply for changes (except to vehicle registration numbers) to existing bookings, including for unchanged dates and campers, as well as to new bookings.
If you change a booking made before the fees were increased, you can apply for refund of any increased fees paid for unchanged dates and campers only. Apply by reply to the email confirming your booking change (subject line begins 'Your change to Park Stay WA booking'). Any delay in changing the booking may affect your right to refund.
Camping fee must be paid by Mastercard or VISA when booking.

Drinking water is not provided.
No personal hygiene facilities are provided.
December to April can be extremely hot and the risk of bushfire can be very high.
November to April is tropical cyclone season.
Storms are common between May and October throughout WA.
Nyinggulara National Park (ex-Ningaloo) is in very remote Australia.
Ensure you have sufficient supplies (including water, food, fuel, medication and first aid), and equipment and clothing appropriate for the conditions before travelling.

Location
135km north of Coral Bay.
Access for high-clearance 4WD vehicles with low-range gears only. Reduce tyre pressure for soft sand access track. No facility to reinflate tyres on exit provided.

From 19 December 2023, Ningaloo Road is closed until further notice due to sand drifts. Campgrounds remain open but access is only possible via 4WD from the north along Yardie Creek Road or from the south along the Cardabia-Ningaloo Road, either from Coral Bay (Coral Bay Coastal Track) or the Bruboodjoo access.
